About

Description

Services 24/7 has a new look!  It’s the same virtual resource center for nonprofits in Prince George’s County, but with more features to help nonprofits, County council, and residents connect to build stronger, more connected communities.

Services 24/7 is an online directory for residents of Prince George's County looking for organizations that provide human services from afterschool programs, to housing and foreclosure assistance, to veteran services. We serve two purposes:

  1. connecting the citizens of Prince George's County with the resources they need to enhance their quality of life and

  2. connecting the vast human resource of volunteers in our county to nonprofits in order to increase their capacity to serve.

What does this mean for nonprofits?

This partnership with GivePulse will offer you the same utility that Services 24/7 offered, but with the added benefit of being able to track volunteering hours/impact, post volunteering events directly to your audience, and manage your organization's profile.  GivePulse will provide you with a free basic account for your organization by signing up at givepulse.com. You will be able to list unlimited opportunities, interact with unlimited volunteers, and assist with verification of attendance. Your account is a public account on givepulse.com which also provides you with the opportunity to potentially recruit and manage other volunteers outside of working with the University of Maryland.  You can even affiliate with other nearby colleges/universities, corporate organizations or like minded non-profits to amplify your exposure of these opportunities.  Find more information at http://support.givepulse.com/.

What does this mean for residents who are looking to volunteer or access services?

Anyone can connect with nonprofits on GivePulse.  You can search for nonprofits by using keywords or search by zip code.  You can also directly contact the nonprofit, sign up for their events, or find more information about them using their GivePulse profile.

Email lcslassistant@umd.edu for assistance.
