About
At For Love of Children, volunteers are the nucleus of our after-school programs for students in 2nd-12th grade, and we are looking for you. Our volunteers serve as direct educational support and are instrumental in enhancing the self-esteem and confidence of our students while encouraging the independence and perseverance necessary to overcome any obstacle to succeed. Through our Neighborhood Tutoring Program (NTP), FLOC tutors students in grades 2nd-12th in the Washington, D.C. area to achieve grade-level competency in reading and math through one-on-one attention and a structured, step-by-step curriculum. 9th-12th grade students participating in our City Leaders Program (CLP) receive mentoring and coaching through our PSAT/SAT Prep tutoring, College & Career Readiness, and Project Based Learning programs to ensure they are prepared to transition out of high school no matter what path they choose.
